null Excise tax training 


The Ministry of Revenues has delivered training on the issue of excise tax collaborating with the International Monetary Organization East Africa Regional Technical Center.


At the closure of the training, the state Minister of Revenues Ms. Meseret Meskele said that the Ministry is carrying out many actions to advance the knowledge of the experts. Among those activities training is the fundamental one. 


The delivered training plays a pivotal role in boosting the knowledge of the experts regarding the issue of excise tax according to her.  


Tax issues advisor Mr. Nebiyu Solomon on his side said that the delivered training has a positive connotation on filling the gap of excise tax.

null The permanent committee of plan, budget and finance has evaluated the four-month performance of   the Ministry of Revenues and the Customs Commission.

 


At the occasion the chairman of the committee his honorable Mr. Desalegn Wedaje, stated that the ministry is doing encouraging activities to boost tax compliance by building internal partnerships, which have a favorable impact on assuring sustainable revenue. 


His honorable Abraham Alemayehu (Ph.D.), the deputy chairperson of the committee on his side said   that it is critical to take action against unlawful traders who refuse to provide a receipt. Ms. Aynalem Niggusie, Minister of Revenues, stated that the ministry has collected more income than as compared to the plan in the last four months. According to her, this revenue came from domestic revenue and customs duty.
